Minolta 1250W vs. Brother 1440

Good morning, class. Please compare and contrast these two early 21st Century laser printers in 100 words or less.

Rossman, please put your hand down, we all know your particular view on this matter. 😀

No talking, and remember, this will count as 30% of your final grade.

OK, then. Allow me to speak for RossMAN 😉 - The 1440 is one fine printer. The Minolta has little market penetration which will equate to hard to find parts (filler cartridges, etc.) The 1440 has a plastic cork on the toner cartridge which will allow you to refill it. I found a refill kit (2 toner bottles - good for 6,000 pages each) on Ebay for about $26.00. Not knowing too much about the Minolta, I'll refrain from dissing it. However, the Samsung (which is supposed to be a good printer) caught my attention when I read that the toner is good for only 2,500 pages. 🙁 Hopefully, the Minolta can do better than this.

Hmm, yes the Samsung. The Minolta comes with a cart good for 1,500 pages -- it's regular one is good for 3,000, I believe.

Oh, and btw, I was only kidding the ever helpful and always positive Rossman, for he is truly the Grand Nagus. It's just that every time these printers are discussed, he jumps in so enthusiastically that you'd think his Brother had a vibrating serial penis port on the back. 😀

LOL

I admit it, I am a Brother laser printer whore fanboi.

Why? I bought my Brother HL-1240 for $0 (thanks to the whole MSN fiasco 2 years ago) and it has been THE BEST trouble free printer I have ever owned. I'm still using the original drum/toner. Once that dries up I'll probably sell this for $75-$100 locally and buy a new Brother HL-1440.
