**Update**

From Fox News:

The Minnesota Supreme Court has ordered that Democrat Al Franken be certified as the winner of the state's long-running Senate race.

The high court rejected a legal challenge from Republican Norm Coleman, whose options for regaining the Senate seat are dwindling.

Justices said Franken is entitled to the election certificate he needs to assume office. When Franken is sworn in, he'll give Democrats a big enough majority to overcome Republican filibusters.

Coleman hasn't ruled out seeking federal court intervention.

GOP's Coleman concedes, sending Franken to Senate

By BRIAN BAKST, Associated Press Writer Brian Bakst, Associated Press Writer

ST. PAUL, Minn. ? Republican Norm Coleman conceded to Democrat Al Franken in Minnesota's contested Senate race on Tuesday, ending a nearly eight-month recount and court fight over an election decided by only a few hundred votes.

Coleman announced his decision at a news conference in St. Paul hours after a unanimous Minnesota Supreme Court ruled that Franken, a former "Saturday Night Live" comedian and liberal commentator, should be certified the winner.

"The Supreme Court has made its decision and I will abide by the results," Coleman told reporters outside his St. Paul home.

Complete ownership of the policies they(democrats) are enacting. No filibuster possibility.

It only took them eight months to figure out who won last November? Maybe it should be made so that if a state can't figure it out by the time the elected official is supposed to take office, then they just lose that representation and have make do with one less senator and/or representative for the remainder of that term.

Obviously, the ALL CAPS and the string of silly smileys wasn't enough...perhaps I should have added /sarcasm and /irony tags.

It took this long because of all of Norm's appeals.

He has this right under the law.

I don't think my sarcasm meter would have survived that.

If they're not careful, they'll just leave the electorate wanting them out as badly as we wanted to oust the Republican majority.

There are enough of us who think both parties are full of crap that we vote against candidates and parties at least as often as we vote for them.

Good. Hopefully this will end here.

The unanimous opinion ruled that Franken "received the highest number of votes legally cast" and is entitled "to receive the certificate of election as United States senator from the state of Minnesota."

Funny, a post from a guy in Florida (Chads, Harris, Bush) ripping on the outcome further edited by a guy from California (Ronnie-Ray-Gun, 13, Aaaahhhnold, and a 24bn bankruptcy) who thinks that MN governors are bad.

Ironical?

No, VOTERS decided the election. Coleman and the Republican party shot their load trying to overturn it. :p

The Harvey Channel is reporting that Coleman and the Republicans are now reporting they have found some 30% more uncounted absentee ballots than there are registered voters in Minnesota. They say their next appeal will be to Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the Guardian Council where they hope to get a "fair and balanced" evaluation of their claims.
