okay, how do you get all the freakin' salt off of your car parts, internally? externally, obviously you just wash it off, but the inside parts, I want to protect them!

anyone please give me some serious pointers, no bs plz

I just embrace it. Then in the Spring when everything thaws I take dozens of cobs of corn, rub them on the car, and enjoy.

Go through a car wash that sprays from the bottom?

They are probably on the premium washes at the gas stations. Or go to the actual car wash businesses.

The more washes the better in the winter I am guessing.

Dude, we live in MN. Get used to it.

Your car will be all rusted up in 5 years, have fun 🙂

I stopped washing my car 3 years ago. The rain takes care of that for me come spring.

1995 Olds Cutlass Supreme, 188,500 miles.

I think the nice layer of oil and grease that coats the undercarrige protects it from road salt.

isn't there a chemical spray that keeps your car parts from rusting with the salt? the car wash companies that do the bottom spray, internally, they obviously don't reach all the car parts...

any other bright ideas?

The only real solution for those faced with this delema.

As stated, embrace and live with it.

Have two cars. A winter beater and a nice spring-summer car.

You could vacation in the SW every four years, dump the rust bucket,
then buy an unrusted car to drive back.

There are many treatments for rust prevention, iirc, Zeebart(?) is just one
of many. The quality of application is probably more important than the product.

Anticorrosive treatmeant underneath the car? I mean stuff like Tectyl etc. Costs about $150 to do where I am (not Minnesota, but salty roads as well) and lasts for a year, but you can actually keep it for more than one season.
