Is there a laptop in production or easily available that will run windows xp smoothly and has usb 2.0?

The catch is, I need to spend $150 or less. Does such a creature exist? Thanks in advance.

That pretty low for a new notebook price. Try Ebay might get a good used one.

a gig of memory is the biggest requirement. you can get away with some pretty wimpy processors by current standards as long as there is at least a gig. i used to run it on 512 on a 1.4ghz centrino (er, the original pentium-m) which was a bit low but still usable.

you can run XP with 512MB RAM, I wouldn't install it on a machine with 256MB is really slow.
Of course you won't get a brand new laptop with 150$ but I think you should find some used laptops, maybe a celeron or an old pentium-m

I've got an older thinkpad with a 1GHz PIII and 256MB RAM, and it run's 'alright'.

Keep in mind I seem to recall running XP on a celeron 300 (non-A) w/ 64MB ram. lol :)
