Just getting into networking and I am really diggin it.
Getting a copy of Redhat version 6.2 i think and I am wondering what are the minimum requirements to run it(probably just for web surfing/emailing). Mostly I am using it to hook up to my current PC so I can do some hands on work with Win2000 pro.

The box in quesiton has a p120 and 24megs o ram and a 2meg vid card.
Will this cut it? Or do I need to start combing the for sale/trade forum?

I appreciate everyone's help.

Thanks,

Inosuke

That'll work. It'll be slow in X Window, but it's enough. You may want a little better vid card. And old Matrox Millenium 4MB would be quite nice there, and probably haveable for cheap these days.

I'd suggest at least a 2GB HD in there as well, though you can certainly use smaller. I have a firewall that has about a 130MBs on it which includes ssh, portsentry, logcheck, and a few other add ons.
