I am looking at getting a dvd burner and was just wondering what was the slowest machines that people have successfully used these in. Looking at putting one in a P3 850Mhz, 256mb ram. Please let me know if you think this would work

I think the min requirements are PII 450 mhz and 128 mb ram. YOur comp would be just fine. I have a friend who has a DVD burneron a 866MHz P3 and it works flawless

I ran a Lite On 451S on my 533 MHZ P3 with 256MB Ram. It worked fine. I'm selling the 451S for $45 Shipped OEM, incase you need one. I'm getting a black color one and I need to sell this off.

My sister is using a PIII 667 with 256MB RAM and Windows XP. It burns, but if you are copying DVDs for backup purposes, it is slow.
