Minimum grad school requirements...

I've been looking at going to grad school recently but I have a 2.84 GPA... I know most of you will tell me to look it up myself and I have. Most schools want atleast a 3... which is why I'm wondering if anyone here has gotten into grad school having a GPA lower than 3.

well i'm not too sure about that... but i'd still apply. I had a GPA less than 3, but I had an upward swing in my GPA.

Your odds are higher if you're not white or asian, since most schools have "diversity" goals.

> Get good recommendation letters from professors and do well on your GRE.

Good advice.

Also something to try if you haven't already graduated, or if you have gaduated but can show your senior year GPA is higher than 3.0.

They usually look a lot more at your overall gpa for the last two years of classes. So even if you did really bad your first year, but improved to As and Bs during your last two, then you have hope. Also, what was your major gpa? The division is going to care more about that than overall gpa.
