What's the minimum bend radius of Cat5e?

The research I've done suggests 4 times the cable diameter, which typically is about 2 inches.

Is this correct?

This has been the week from Hell ... starting with the death of my oldest cat (17 years old, I got him as a kitten) last Saturday morning ... lots going on at work ... things have been busy.

Regarding the MBR:

The 4X rule = ~two inches works like this: A standard Category-rated UTP cable is ~1/4" in diameter(Cat6 is slightly larger, ~3/8"). Four times one-quarter inch = one inch. The cable should follow the arc of a circle drawn at 4X the cable diameter ... so a one inch radius yields a two inch circle (in the case of Cat6, THREE inches is a better figure: 3/8 X 4 = 12/8 = 1.5 inches)).

Reference: "Cabling: The complete guide to network wiring (second edition)" Chapter 12, page 481 (isbn 0-7821-2958-7).

So, that's the story. For the "I didn't so it like that and it works OK " crowd, keep it to yourself; you can do a crap install on your own stuff any way you want ... this is the industry convention.

Sorry for the delay .... sometimes life gets in the way...

(not ranting on ya Spidey, just letting you know I was tied up)

Y'all take care

My cat was 18 years old and I had to put him to sleep!

Two inches seems kinda tight to me............
