minimum acceptable thread count? for a duvet cover

i'm thinking of buying a duvet cover from overstock.com. prices start at $30 (~200tc) and up (~1000+tc).

so what's the minimum acceptable thread count?

btw, for those who don't know, a duvet cover is like a shell for a blanket. examples

Depends on you really I wouldn't want anything less than like 350tc and thats pushing it a bit.500 is a nice middle of the road number and shouldn't set you back to far so like a 500/600tc one. Check the material as well stay away from some of those blend ones ive seen on there which use polyester in addition to cotton.Heres a few links I used for some xmas shopping I did a week or so ago and some of the ones I looked into....
