Is there any way to minimize outlook express to the system tray so it has an icon?

Here's one way

I use Outlook 2003, and in order to make it minimize to the system tray I create a new DWORD value in the registry called "MinToTray" and set the value to 1.

All I do is hit the little minus sign and it disappears to the minimize area. Specifically, the system tray is normally used for startups that run in background. I keep an icon for OE in the QL area all the time. That setup is simply a drag and drop.

The question is somewhat unclear. What is the objective?

Minimizing to the system tray frees up space on the taskbar.

Does that then also stop OE from appearing minimizing to the taskbar? In other words, does it add OE to the tray area, in addition to being on the taskbar, or in lieu of being on the taskbar?

That's exactly what I'm looking for. I know you can add the dword to regular outlook, but that doesn't work for Outlook Express.

edit: Thanks John, power menu works great :D

there's a free app called trayit that allows you to set up which apps get minimized to the system tray
