So I'm looking for a minimalist stand which can jack up the Crapbook as much as possible in the vertical position - i.e. so that the screen is straight eyes-on at maximum open angle, and lift the whole thing up a bit more after that.

Something like this...

...in terms of utility, but obviously far more minimalist in terms of look.

I've got a plastic stand from Port which does the above, but the bulbous plastickiness just doesn't fit the look.

I've looked at the Balmuda Lift (http://www.balmuda.com/en/products/c/lift/) but it's clear it doesn't actually lift enough. The Griffin Elevator or any other 'flat stand' doesn't open out the machine enough, so that the screen ends up too far back.

Would be nice if it had cable management for the Magsafe / Thunderbolt / Ethernet and USB's.

Any ideas?

Why is it important for the machine to be as open as possible? Why wouldn't a 90 degree open work? I understand that you are asking for something particular, just curious.

To make sure that I am understanding the request;
1: You want it to elevate the laptop above the desk surface so that the screen is at eye level
2: You want it to be at an angle such that the laptop has its screen opened back as far as it will go
3: You want it to do this in the cleanest, simplest way possible
Bonus: Cable management of some fashion

The Lift looks like it would accomplish step two and three and the bonus, so now to find something that fits step one in there.

I can't help it.

Yes, I know Apple is the choice of every vacuous moron who have their brains in their eyes, or those tech types who secretly want to be cool but don't have the faintest idea where to start looking.

Even though I use it due to a particular OS X need and at best tolerate the pieces of crap that Starbucks-dwelling wastes of breath's love to drool over, whenever I sit in front of one my inner Carson Kressly bursts out with a Broadway turn. I feel the need, the need for (matching) acthethorieth.

Xtand looks like a contender. I can't Google an exact side-on pic of it but I do see one comparing it against an Elevator and it does notably cant the machine forwards in comparison.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Not adjustable, but Logitech Alto Express is nice and cheap (I believe discontinued, so you can sometimes find it for $10 - $20 on eBay).
