Minidisk Condition/Repair?

Anyone know what I should do for my minidisk? I sold it to a friend and she said that it played perfectly, but when one tries to record and playback, there is nothing. It is made by Sony, but I believe it is now (just barely) out of warranty. Does anyone know if I can send it to the factory for repairs or if there is a good/inexpensive place in town (College Park, MD area)? Let me know through posts or (preferred) PMs.

Thanks

I had a MZ-N1 that would have problems with playback and recording. This particular model had some sort of inherent recording and playback issues after some use (the one I had gave problems after less than two years of sporadic use). I ended up selling it because the Sony repair shop wanted $200 to repair it. I bought a replacement model MZ-N920 (Japanese edition with English/Japanese display) that is working well.

Try going to the Sony website and see what they are willing to do in regards to repairing or replacing the unit (for a fee, of course). I remember going there when my MZ-N1 was giving up the ghost and the website gave options in dealing with repairs of out of warranty units. Good luck.
