hi,
I have a sony mini hifi with digital connector at the back of it and i am connected my hifi to my Sb live 5.1 . Recently i bought a minidisc portable player ...so i was wondering can i record my mp3 from my pc to my portable minidsic player with a optical cable which connected from hifi to minidisc portable player ? thanks

well ..i wanna use the optical cable .......my pclink cable is not a optical . Since i have a optical cable , i wanna try to record it with optical cable ....to see is there any difference.

I'm sorry, I was assuming that you had optical-out on your SB Live and optical-in on your Minidisc player. I also thought that PC Link was a USB device that provided optical output. Can't you connect your MD player directly to your computer via PC Link?

I guess I'm really not certain as to what you're wanting to do.

The optical cable is really for use with the Optical out in the back of the stereos. If you take a look at the cable, it won't fit when you try to plug it into the sound card. I just use a regular Stereo Cable, which costs about $3 or $4. Does the job find.

Hope this helps.
