Mini system speakers on Z560 sub?

BD2003

Lifer
My gf has the sweetest set of minisystem speakers. Theyre from an old sharp mini system, and even though theyre kind of lacking in bass, i swear they were every bit as clear as my old paradigm titans.

I had to ditch the titans cause of space reasons. The sharp speakers arent too powerful, theyre not really all too loud, and they definitely use a pretty thin gauge wire.

Think theres any chance the z-560 sub can drive them for the fronts, and keep z560 sats for the rears? Id love to have them for fronts, and I'd imagine the z560 sub would fill in the bass just nicely. Theyre not awfully loud speakers, and the mini system that drives them is 40W per channel. Any reason why it wouldnt work?

Maybe not every bit as clear as the titans, but they're sweet. I'm still surprised every time I hear them. They certainly kick the z560 sats around the block any day. 3-way ported bookshelfs.

But that doesnt answer my question. Can the z560 sub drive them? Should I even try?

dude I would not try it unless you are sure. Try and look up the exact specs on logitechs website, that may help

Well, the Z560 supposedly puts out some 50W per channel, but realistically, the speakers I want to attach are 3 times as big.

Is underpowering speakers bad, or can it be safely done, with just less volume?

uh.. who really cares? thats like finding out that the engine on yer formula one car is really a v4 .... if it still goes 225 mph, who cares!

So if the z560 only put out a true 15 watts, would I damage the 40watt speakers by attaching them? Or would they not be as loud? Damn, its so hard to get a straight answer sometimes!

if you market your engine as the true v12 and start to blast your competitions engine as not a "true" v12.. then its hipocracy .. no?

as for powering 40watt speakers.. depends how efficient those speakers are. so i guess u can try, your probably not gonna blow anything. then again if the sharps have tweeters they might be more susceptible to damage😛

Man, thats not marketing or hypocracy, thats false advertising!

The new speakers have tweeters, mids, woofer and a nice big port.
