i own the shuttle sk43g and i want to take out the guts and put it into a smaller case. a much smaller case. if possible something close to mini-itx size.

I can loose the dvd, and floppy and have no additional cards installed.
I do need fulll high ddr support though.

so has anyone heard of a case that i would be able to do this with?

You still need a power supply and a CPU Cooler and they take up space. The problem with the newer systems is they are power hogs. The problem with mini-ITX is they tend to run slower and not have enough power. One think some of the Mini-ITX style cases use is the ultra thin notebook CDROM Drives. The smaller you go the more it costs. The heat has to go somewhere. Smaller cases do not have much air flow.

Some of the new processors form VIA are going to be up to 1.5 Gigs.

You might be better off with just a laptop.

A-Open makes this small SFF with a Pentium M Motherboard:

Some people like this Asus Pundit:

These are Bare Bones kits and probably dont have a CPU/HARD DRIVE/MEMORY AND maybe not a Floppy or a CDROM Either.

The A-open case looks small but it uses an external 12v DC Power Adapter and probably an inernal power board. This makes the case look smaller and cuter.

The A-Open Pentium M Motherboard I think costs around $300, but you have to add the cost of an Intel Pentium M! Yes the initial outlay of funds is higher, However, your electric bill will thank you later.

AT Toms Hardware they tested this motherboard and it draws 37 watts with the integrated video solution. What is odd is they tested it with a 400 W Power supply. The power supply had a 80% energy efficiency rating and that is why they used it. The efficiency rating is how much energy the power supply uses converting 120AC to the different voltages DC that the computer uses. At times the cooler did not even run the fan.

Still 37watts means 2 things. The Heat produced is a lot less and that has 2 side effects. It takes a really small CPU Cooler and it also makes for a very quiet PC.

Here comes the dilemna. . .

The PC will cost more, but it will save you money over the long run on your electric bill.

I doubt the shuttle mother board will fit into any of mini-itx cases.
Check out #2 web site yourself, but I own a shuttle wand have been thinking about getting some of the M-ITX cases and I know the shuttle boards was just too long for the ones out last year.

Not to be an A$$ but whey when someone post asking about a solution people just come into the thread and talk about someting close but not really on topic.

Its about a case for his shuttle parts, it have nothing to do with the Pentuim M.

I have seen some case reviews on a case made in the UK that is not shown in the USA. The name of the case manufacturer is Hoojum.

Hoojum Cases UK

I think they are stylish and have an elegance all their own.

Too bad I dont see any place in the United States where they are sold.
