I was looking at what kind of ram I have in my laptop and I found what I beleve to be a Mini PCI slot. I want to know if any card will work and where can I get and how do I install the antennas? I don't want to break my $1200 toy. and also Do I need an on/off switch or LEDS? the model up from mine had both? Thanks.

I dropped in a Intel 2200BG mini-PCI wireless network card into my Toshiba Satellite 2410. The hardware or software on/off switch doesn't work, but you can control it via drivers. In my mini-PCI slot, there was a white and a black antenna wire taped down in the slot for me to use.

Looking at your picture, it doesn't look like you have the antenna wires that I had.

You need to open up your computer to route the wire correctly and securely. If you've never opened a laptop up before, I don't recommend you try now. Get someone who knows what they're doing to help, or better yet just buy a pcmcia or usb type adapter.
