Mini-PCI for a Thinkpad T30

I've done some searching on this and I'm running into a wall. I've got a T30 (2366-41U). It's got the antenna installed but I can't find any information about which mini-pci card will work in this system.

Does anyone know? What make/model, etc.?

TIA,

Scott

Yeah, I found that matrix too but I'm not sure I completely trust the information. For one thing, it's over 2 years old. For another, I'm finding other links that show some other wireless cards that are supposed to work with the T30.... like this one - http://www.ckccomp.com/servlet/the-56/IBM-Thinkpad-T30-MPI350/Detail. I imagine that this is because the network cards are actually newer than the data posted on that web site.

I think I'll end up trying the card listed in the link I posted here and see what happens. The worst case is returning the card and losing $7.50 + shipping if it doesn't work.

EDIT - I just went back and saw that this card is an 802.11b card only. Guess I'll keep looking....

the only vendor that I have found that locks cards to their hardware, and prevents any old mini-PCI from working is HP. I don't think I have ever tried to swap an IBM's, but most vendors (i.e. acer, fujitsu, dell, sony) don't put these artificial restriction on your upgrades. First thing I did with my Dell was swap the BG card for an ABG

IBM also locks out non-branded IBM cards. The wifi card that is supported is the b model only. The BG cards required a modified bios hack.

Yep. That's what I'm finding too. I'm getting this one.

We'll see how it works....

Thanks for the input.
