Ha, that's pretty cool. It looks like the expensive bits are designed to float off when the ship goes down. I wonder what they are shooting?

one of the comments said 1/4" bearings but another model naval warfare video said bb's which would make more sense

I guess they just angle them down 45 degrees or something sot hey don't strike the operators? lol. Hopefully they wear paintball masks just in case one skips

No, they are just in water shallow enough to make retrieving their sunken models easy. The electronics are in a water sealed box, BB proof box.

Ah ok, saw some parts float off a couple that went down and assumed that must be by design.

They should have had mini sharks swim around and eat the survivors while the wait for rescue.

It is by design. It can be a real bitch to find them - those parts floating off have a tether back to the boat so you can walk over and immediately locate it under water.

Do they have bilge pumps? I noticed quite a few of them start spouting water when damaged.

I was wondering that too. It might just be the motor though. I vaguely remember my R/C boats spitting water out behind them.

From the youtube comments on the video MrDudeMan posted:

"The bb guns cause holes, when there are more holes letting water in than the pump can push out, it sinks."
