Does anyone have a suggestion for a Mini-ITX case, with a Vesa mount? Building a Mini-ITX for my wife. It will have a 47 watt i3. No discrete graphics. No optical drive.

I want to mount it on the back of a 27" 2560x1440 monitor that has a Vesa mount on the back of it already. Using Bluetooth for the keyboard and mouse.

Small is better. I don't mind power bricks.

did u already purchase the i3 and board?

if not, you may want to look into a complete SFF package like a zotac id series, or a shuttle xpc which will give you all that.

or even a NUC.

the top 2 options will require you to piece out the cpu, ram + SSD. The case and board are a package.

The bottom one will require just the ram and a mini PCI-E SSD.

That is a thought. My main requirements are an i3 or better, quiet, and the Vesa mount.

yea you won't find any case mini ITX that do vesa mounting except some old ones which require the motherboard be powered by an external power supply. What you will want to look at is the mini PC line on newegg. Intel, gigabyte, and MSI have a seasoned line of 5x5 boxes that all have vesa mounting.

I don't mind an external power supply. Easy to hide, and quiet. If anything I'd prefer it.

Except that you need to find a motherboard that has the external power supply. I wasn't saying it would be ideal, I was saying that THAT'S the tricky part. ;)
