We could not get this MB to work with RAM in both memory slots, regardless of the speed of the memory. For the first 4 weeks or so I used one 8GB stick defaulting down to -2133 speed from it's rated -3200. I tried other RAM as well...NADA.

I missed the Amazon return date to get a replacement MB. So, I sent it to the Asus repair terminal in Indiana for a warranty repair. They received it this past Thursday, and I received an email today stating it was going out the door today to me.

Assuming the repair is fine, I hope to have it back by Thursday or Friday. Excellent turnaround.

Before I sent it in, I emailed an Asus tech rep concerning this matter. He said they had seen quite a few damaged MB memory controllers when the CPU heat sink/fan cooling unit was over-tightened to the motherboard.... interesting info right there. Just thought I'd pass that along.

I got the MB back from the Asus repair center in Indiana Friday am. The Asus rep said they "flashed the bios, and it's fine..." HMM, NOT... They gave me a new or re-furbished MB and then flashed the bios... because I had flashed my original board to the latest '2002' version several weeks ago.

My computer shop buddy who re-assembled the components yesterday ( I was too busy with work to do it) said it was a new motherboard. If that's accurate then I'm happy, as Amazon would not exchange it as I was past the return date. I'm just connecting the cables to it now.
