Mini Coupe Concept: I like it!

I like it a lot, I think I'd love a convertible one of those!

I think we'll see pics of the convertible concept shortly.

I have the feeling that the strongest competition for this car will be BMW's own 1-Series.

I wonder how the two will compare.

Looks stupid. I think Mini brand works for certain vehicles, sport coupes and SUVs aren't those.
I'd rather have a real RWD sports car and get a Miata or 370Z depending on how much this costs.

A removable hardtop like the S2000 has would be pretty cool. But yeh, I agree that it'd be knocking on the door of the BMW 1-Series in terms of pricing.

True. This MINI Coupe will most likely cost $30-$35K decently loaded. About $10K less than the 135i or only about $7K less than the 128i.

Whereas, a loaded Miata can be had for upper $20s and the 370Z for low/mid $30s. Both are probably a better value...and more reliable to boot.

Plus RWD. And you can get Miata with a retractable hardtop for less. And every yuppie poser is not going to drive one because he's too afraid to look ghey.

would it really be that different from the current convertible?

edit: has everyone here hating on the FWD of the mini driven one?

I hate the minis but that looks pretty good. I wouldn't buy one but I also wouldn't laugh at the guy driving one.

I don't like it at all...

1) Looks ugly
2) Is unlikely to drive any better than the normal mini
3) Looks ugly
4) Has less space than the normal mini
5) Looks ugly
