Mini & Bluetooth headsets

Guys, I can;t be the only one to ever think of this.

Here is a response in the windows forum:

What brand bluetooth adapter are you running, and what bluetooth stack is it using? Does the bluetooth adapter/stack support A2DP (advanced audio distribution profile)?

If it doesn't support A2DP, you might get it working but you probably won't be satisfied with the results (i.e. poor audio quality and frequent disconnects).

How do I check to see if this is supported?

10.6.4 should support A2DP without fundamental issues. Apple's Bluetooth implementation is however always a bit lacking - they didn't support A2DP in their notebooks until Leopard, and sound quality has always been comparatively bad on my Pro's, Macbook Pro's and Air's. I would imagine that my experiences on the other desktops/notebooks would translate to the Mini as well.

Boot Camp... I'm not sure, Never tried using a stereo headset in Windows on a Mac.

In windows, you most likely get just the general MS bluetooth stack, which doesn't support A2DP (at least in XP/Vista).

What kind of headset are you trying to pair? If you want to pair a regular cell phone headset, I dont think Mac supports the headset protocol. A2dp would be stereo headphones/headset, but the mic wouldn't work.

I have 2 sets of Bluetooth headphones both made by Sony.
They work find and the built in controls work in iTunes.

Depending on the connected there is some audio delay when watching movies. If there is a delay I usually will fire up VLC and use that.

I have one set here and the model number is DR-BT21G
This set also pairs with my iPhone and works flawlessly as both stereo headset or hands free.
