Mine's not an Audi
By David Owen

Bernd Pischetsrieder, the cigar-smoking head of Germany's Volkswagen, steered perilously close to a Ratner moment yesterday when he dismissed cars made by Audi, his company's most profitable division, as a "complete waste of money".

Unlike Gerald Ratner, who was forced to quit after dismissing one of his company's products as "crap", Pischetsrieder also attacked rivals, saying Mercedes-Benz and BMW cars were also a waste. "You can get the same transportation performance fuelled with the same speed from a much cheaper car," he told financial analysts in London.

And those much cheaper cars don't last you more than 5-7 years before breaking down and the resell value dipping into the hundreds.... *cough* Ford *cough*

its stupid...you buy cars not just to get you from a to b. idiots will come in here and try to convince how hondas are better than bmws, when infact you buy those cars from two completly different reason and its why i own both and am very happy with both cars.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We're comparing apples to oranges, not apples to platinum. I was assuming the discussion had a MSRP of below $70k, not a million.

IIRC, Beamers are helluva reliable and the resell value of those puppies are high.
