Mind transfer

Would you get your brain scanned and turned into a computer program that could then be run off a "prosthetic brain" installed in your body? The scanning process destroys the original brain, but the program behaves exactly as you would in any given situation. The prosthetic brain is effectively immortal and can easily be installed/transplanted into new bodies.

Only if I can copy myself, and have myself installed in millions of bodies. That way, we could begin to start repopulating the earth with intelligence.

Nah, U.S. laws only permit one copy of the program to be run at a time. Plus surrogate mothers (for the brainless clones) are expensive and the brain-to-program conversion costs most of your life savings.

Well they will just have to change the law and pay me a lot of money for me to grace them with my brain.

I'd put up a copy of a woman's brain as a torrent for all to download. Wouldn't be that big of a download.

I would then start a challenge to see if anyone can figure out how to remove "shoe-ware" from the brain.

No.. it wouldn't adapt just as my mind would. No way.
Assume that the software perfectly emulates any human brain. It can learn new skills, store memories, imagine things, etc. exactly as your actual brain would have.

Why? What's so special about a wrinkled, gray chunk of tissue?

Is that a stereotype? Doesn't work with me.

Agreed. I'd do it before I died.

No stereotype, just the story of your life.

You've obviously been misinformed.
