If Jesus' command to the rich young man to sell ALL his possessions and give them to the poor were global and apllied to ALL Christians, we would see evidence of it in other parts of Scripture.
On the contrary, Christians are to are to give according to each one?s ability and income as indicated by Acts 11:27-30 and 1 Corinthians 16:2.
