Was just reading a HSF roundup here and noticed the great performance/noise ratio of this cooler. Does anyone have any experience with this one??

KevinC, it is a nice cooler indeed, I reviewed it at VN Roundup In my opinion, it is one of the best coolers on the market. My MAJOR gripe is its weight - over 600g, LOL. I wish Millennium Thermal had used the more sophisticated screw-mounting method rather than the dated clip. There's nothing wrong with a clip, but when your heatsink weighs over a pound, you get a bit worried of snapping socket tabs or crushed CPU cores.

thanks. Will it fit on the ASUS A7V266E?? the PAL8045 won't, so I'm looking for a cooler that will (when I get the mobo and XP shortly).

I'm looking for the official photo of the A7V266-E from ASUS, I will let you know within the next ten minutes or so. I am fairly confident though that there should be no problem putting the Glaciator II on any standard socket as it uses a standard clip, and the actual copper block does not take up much room around the socket. I'll get back to you with a definitive answer though in a short while here. If you'd like, you can e-mail me here and I'll let you know what I personally see, and the response from Millennium-Thermal.

Peace

I've been unable to find a picture of the A7V266-E again. Since I don't recall whether or not the layout was the same/similar to that of the A7V266, I cannot honestly say (yet.) As far as the A7V266 is concerned though, looking at pictures found at VIA Hardware it would definitely appear to be just fine with that board. It should hopefully be all right on the newer model as well. Again, I'll get back to you when I get the official response from Millennium Thermal.
