In my experience, there is no Xbrand>Ybrand when it comes to food. Just try the different brands of an item and stick with what you like most.
No-Name(not generic, but non-branded) items are hard to assess for their quality and even formulation varies for any particular product. The reason for this, I theorize, is that they consist of various suppliers excess production or perhaps lowest bid. For example, you may get No-Name Chicken Ramen one month Made in Korea, the next month the same might be from Singapore. Both are significantly different(I prefer the Ramen from Singapore) and of differeing quality.
Most of us have consistent eating patterns, considering that we eat the same thing multiple times, we have plenty of time to find what is the most appealing to our own tastes. So, experiment!
