The 280X puts out a lot of heat, and there's really no way around that. I did try to give a little bit of room between the cardboard tunnel and the back side of the GPU, but that's hard to do since I had to leave room for the intake fan on the GTX 1060 as well. It didn't work very well so I took the cardboard out.
I think one of the biggest problems has been that whoever designed this case planned for a lot of very good airflow on the top half of the case, but not for the bottom of the case where the 280X is sitting. Removing those PCI slot spacers did seem to help a bit. The 280X has been averaging about 6-8C cooler since I did that. And the GTX 1060 and Ryzen 3900X have also been running several degrees cooler so it does seem like more of the heat is actually being pushed out instead of just circulating around inside the case. Of course, that was also over night so I'll let it run through the afternoon today to see if the temps just go back up or if they stay slightly more manageable.
