Yeah, beer went up a dollar or two or more a case around here (SE Pa) a couple of months ago. I, too, thought it was because of the hop price spike.

So I think, OP alkymest, that the brewers are afraid to impose a second round of price hikes right now, even though delivery costs have to have skyrocketed.
