Milk at Walmart more expensive than my local supermarket???

1 gallon of regular milk at Walmart is like $3.29.

at my local supermarket, it's $2.79. (not on sale)

everthing so far is cheaper at walmart than my supermartket when it's not on sale except milk. why isnt it cheaper at walmart?

Walmart is slightly more expensive for just about everything at my supermarket. There is just such a wide variety in prices for the same stuff. That is just how supermarkets are run. People just don't bother switching to the cheaper supermarkets.

Price Gouger - 3.29
Walmart - 3.34

Walmart did have cheaper tuna though. I'm slowly comparing prices between the various local grocery stores to see which would average the cheapest.

Something I have noticed that WalMart does is offer bulk items at a more expensive price than the non-bulk items.

example: 12 pack of toilet paper is more expensive than 3 four packs.

I think it is tricky marketing because people always assume bulk packs are the better buy.

They should pricematch at the register. Just say "So and so has milk for X.XX"
Some grocers use milk as a loss leader to get people in, so they'll cut the price on it.

You guys have absolutely no problem supporting a company that treats it's employees like crap and destroys smaller businesses to save a few cents, do you?

Walmart sucks.

But, isn't that just capitalism at it's finest?

Walmart sucks.

It's the beauty of capitalism

I picked up some milk for .99 per 1/2 gallon on sale at Kroger two days ago. Got 5 of them. 2 young kids drink about a gallon a day. Can't wait til they are drinking Bud. 🙂

Well, it's all about economics notfred. People will most always buy product x at the lowest price to them. If only small businesses could be more competitive...

And honestly, why would care how Walmart treats their employees? I never see my local store undermanned.

walmart sells it as an add on
groceries sell it low to get people in

Why do people hate Walmart? Maybe they were fired? Maybe they were passed over when they applied for a position? Maybe their store was uncompetitive and got ran out of business?

You just failed at the game of capitolism and democracy, way to go! Why don't you get out of the US since you dislike the foundation of the country so much?
