There are reports that a plane has crashed in Luzerne County.

It happened just after 9:00 Tuesday morning. Police on the scene confirm there were two people on the plane; one is confirmed dead.

Thick black smoke can be seen coming from an area near Interstate 81 and Suscon Road in Dupont.

A witness told Newswatch 16 she was driving on Interstate 81 when she saw a military-type plane coming in at an angle, then a fireball not far from the Wilkes Barre/Scranton International Airport.

Happened near me... probably won't get national coverage so I thought I'd share.
 
In the interest of accuracy, it does not sound like this was a military aircraft. I had thought it sounded odd because I am not aware of any military airfields anywhere near there:

Police confirm the plane was a turbo-prop, twin engine plane, formerly a military plane.
