I sometimes think the military brass is screwing over its soldiers. I propose that military salaries and benefits should be a separate spending appropriation item. It only takes 2 fewer B-2s to give everybody a good raise.

The members of Congress, not top military officers, are the ones who regulate our pay, as well as appropriations for all materiel acquisitions. I agree that military members (especially enlisted ones) are generally underpaid.
