Whats an example of a milieu? Specifically in the 1930s. Dictionary.com said it was your environment or your surroundigs.
 
mixture of atmosphere/feeling/surroundings (non-weather related)... don't worry too much about it. i've never heard anyone other than snooty academics use the word.
