Sitting waiting for the local traffic report during those breaks for local news on GMA. Miley came on and sang a song called Butterfly Fly Away. She sounded (at least on this song) like Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac. Great band BTW (Fleetwood Mac)

Miley is strange---she's a created teen idol, but actually has talent. I'm not sure how she expects to make it in today's music business with actual talent. That's something producers are supposed to GIVE to you!

I'd be lying if I said I have heard a single Miley Cyrus song. Does she write her own songs? If she doesn't write her own music/lyrics she's not much of a musician IMO.

She does?

Talent or no, she's not exactly creating an endearing public persona when she's interviewed. She comes off as a semi-clueless spoiled brat with delusions of grandeur.

Really? My daughter follows her and I feel very comfortable with her being an influence. Her dad is very protective, Miley is fully aware that she's the focus of a lot of teen girls and therefore keeps her life clean. If fact, the single incident of questionable behavior (those suggestive pics that were taken for that magazine last year) were more or less a big mistake on the photographer's part (BR Cyrus was quoted as saying something to the effect of "I'd take that guy out in the alley if I had a chance", as that was not what they agreed the photoshoot would look like).

I like Miley. Her music isn't my cup of tea, but I have a lot of respect for her and Billy Ray Cyrus.
