Mikewarrior2, What do you think about the HSF COP tester?

I appreciate that htey are trying something new, but there are a couple of key problems.

1) Their thermistor should contact the silver slug, not the air and metal surrounding the "slug". In fact, ti looks like the thermistor isn't even close to the silver "slug".

2). I would personally like to see the non-slug area's "insulated" to prevent heat loss. As the test is, some percentage of the (38 and 54W) peltiers is being lost to the copper plate, and not to the heatsink.

Granted, the point would be to measure how much heat is "absorbed" by the heatsink, but I think we'll still see a "compression" of results. Probably not nearly as severe as socket a mb thermsitors, but a compression nonetheless. I think its a move in the right direction, and with a few "corrections" it could be made into something very nice.
