Mikerowsoft won against Microsoft. :-)

LOL!! Sweet!

Though I am saddened that it was MS backing out when they realized how stupid they looked in the press as opposed to a judge smacking them down and throwing out the case for how moronic it was.

I think what happened is MS's legal team was on auto-pilot and got stomped on when the top brass at MS heard the news stories.

"That said, we appreciate that Mike Rowe is a young entrepreneur who came up with a creative domain name. We are currently in the process of resolving this matter in a way that will be fair to him and satisfy our obligations under trademark law."

So they haven't backed down, but rather they are looking for a way to tack this on as a trademark infringement. 😉

Well, in any case, it looks like his 15 minutes is almost up.

Probably a safe bet. I really hope someone lost their job over this. Idiots.

10 Grand? I would've asked for a whole lot more. Shows how much the kid knows about biz.

Here is an updated story.

In exchange for transferring control of his domain name, the software maker has promised to help Rowe set up a new Web site; pay for a Microsoft certification course and subscription to the Microsoft Developer Network Web site; and pay for his family to visit Microsoft Research Tech Fest in Redmond, Wash., in March. To top it all off, he will get an Xbox with some games.
