Saw him yesterday at Maker Faire. First he gave a talk on stage, then I ran into him at TechShop. Security was fairly tight, but polite.

The sad thing is, there are guys like this all around us in the country. The problem is, we've allowed the morons and the idiots to get into office and we keep voting them back in, over and over again.

I watched the whole thing because I knew people would bitch if I cut it short. I don't think the guy said anything at all that had any substance. what did you get out of that talk?

It's an important point about the attitudes of intellectuals that think they know better than certain people. We actually depend on people with limited skill sets and specific knowledge that far exceeds what any individual can possibly know.

Sometimes, the "right way" is the decidedly WRONG way. Any bureaucrat or idealist needs to realize this and his example is a revalation and interesting to boot.

Cliffs for the retarded:

1. Dirty jobs isn't signing up to be a sad tortured soul like you would be led to believe.

2. Our country needs more people doing these dirty jobs

3. Passion is overrated in careers.
