Anyone see the end of the OSU - Marshall game? Yeah, it's pathetic we let Marshall score 21 points against us, but wow. 25 seconds left to go, Buckeyes go something like 20 yards, two seconds left, 54 yard field-goal attempt by Mike Nugent.

And he clears it by a long-shot. He could have easily made a 60+yd field-goal.

Freaking amazing.

dunno, about this 'best kicker" thing check out Uni. of Maryland's current kicker, Nick Novak. He has a chance to break the NCAA scoring record.

The Nuge. Obviously they have an error, they have it down as him having missed today's 55 yard attempt.

Novak

There is just something nice about having a kicker who has never missed a 50+ yard attempt. :p He has better percentages in both FGA and XPA. Not as many attempts, but you can hardly blame Nugent for that. In 2002 and 2003, Novak made 48 out of 60 field goal attempts. Nugent made 41 of 47 in the same time period. 87.2% vs 80%. Including 2001, the percentages are a little closer, 77.4% vs 75.3%. Their records so far this year in FGA is identical, 3 for 3, so I didnt include them above.

Also, Nugent hasnt failed to make an XPA in 55 straight attempts. And he has a National Championship ring ;)

Aside from a great kicker (Nugent also puts a lot of his kick-offs outside the endzone), OSU has a defense that has overcome the offense's 7 turnovers in the last two games, and allowed OSU to win. It hasnt been flashy, but they've made the stops when they have needed to. Tressel has continued to make cardiac specialists all over ohio quite wealthy. And they havent lost to Notre Dame this year :D;)

If Zwick can stop making stupid mistakes, he'll be a really good QB, and our offense will perk up a lot. I just hope he doesnt become Chris Rix, Junior. In his defense though, he is still an underclassman, and he is just starting to see real playing time. Whereas Chris Rix is in his final season of eligibility, and still makes remarkably stupid throws, judging by what I saw of the FSU-Miami game.

MIKE

or a WR besides santonio holmes.
Lydell Ross and Maurice Hall aren't horrible RBs by any means. But then again, they aren't superstars.

Ohio State has a great defense: AJ Hawk, Dustin Fox, Simon Fraser, Nate Salley, Marcus Green and E.J. Underwood are all future NFL players.

You better do a better job against us (defensively), if you expect to win.

rix is such a joke.
watching a bit of that game last night and FSU players said they wanted the orange bowl, miami is just one game along the way.

...

with rix as your QB? had a good laugh at that one.

but berlin couldnt throw for a damn either, that was an equally pathetic display by both.
