Not me. I thought this was going to be about Michael Douglas, then I remembered he wasn't 81.

Sounds like another victum of this awful heat. Older folk are having a hard time with the heat. Mike was up there with Johnny Carson, but even more he was a "behing the scene" guy. He started a lot of tv shows and became VERY VERY rich from that alone.

Sure you're not thinking about Merv Griffin? I always got him and Mike mixed up.

That's like mixing up Richard Simmons and Jack Lalanne. They did essentially the same thing but WAY different.

I remember one show in particular. It was from New Orleans and he had Eubie Blake on. Eubie Blake introduced a young Jazz pianist to the world. Some kid named Harry Connick JR..

Great man and a great show.:brokenheart:

Older than Brutuskend?
I believe I am older than Brutuskend although I would guess we couldn't be more than a couple years apart in age. I never did the rollerskate thing but then again his gf was into that. ;)

The Mike Douglas show I remember to this day was when he had Moe Howard on as a guest.
He walked out and nobody knew who he was bacause he had his hair combed back. Once he broke out his comb and combed his hair down on his forehead... Moe from the 3 Stooges!!! And he was a complete fossil but once he put his hair in the "Moe" style you could still recognize him. The audience went nuts! :D That was just a couple years before Moe died. It was a great show.
