Where will Chokeland Athletics go from here?

Ask Red Dawn. Then again, he lives in Boston so he will be easy to convert.

A's going nowhere. it's either the yankees or the red sox in the WS next year.

If Oakland does not resign at least Eric Chavez, their attendance would drop dramatically.

Oakland must make these players absolutely untouchable and resign them to long term contracts.

Eric Chavez, Barry Zito, and Tim Hudson. Mulder can be traded for more offense, but I think A's should lock him up long term. Closers are dime a dozen. Foulke is ok, but not the best closer IMO. A's can now trade for Troy Percival or maybe sign Armando Benitez.

Bobby Kielty is going to replace Tejeda.

since when did red dawn live in boston?

miguel sucked it up last year. he goes from one alleged "doormat" team to another. a's weren't pursuing him anyways, so everyone knew he was a lost cause.

Tejeda is overrated.

A's were smart to let Giambi go. He has a bummed knee, uses supplement to hit his home runs and he is just an overpaid Designated Hitter. Also, his batting average dipped a ton this year.

Billy Beane knows what up.

they'll do what they've done in the past. build upon one of the best farm leagues in Major league Baseball. The A's will find a way to win.

i love everyone of your anti Oakland posts. You flame the A's but you still back the winless Red Sox. You give no love.

I hope the Orioles sign Javy Lopez. Might make watching the O's play worthwhile.

ya. letting giambi go was a good move. letting tejada go was also a good move. you gotta give it to him. he makes good decisions.

btw, no way is tejada worth a 6 yr 72 million dollar contract.

Fvck no! Tejeda = Albert Belle. That MVP year was a fluke.

For the salary Tejeda is getting, they could probably resign both Zito and Hudson with that money.

Imagine what Billy Beane can do with a larger payroll. :Q

Dude, what are you talking about?

A's haven't even made out of the first round in the last three years.

Javy Lopez sucks. He can't even play full season and this year was such a fluke that it makes Bret Boone look good.

Red Sox haven't won the World Series in the past, what, 300 years?

Hmm, the devil rays have only been in the league 6 years, the Red Sox hasn't won it since 1918

classic. way to argue. you know you've been beaten on a pure argumentative stand point.

the facts are there.

- if Oakland choked while they were UNDERDOGS to the Boston Red Sox
then ...
- Boston CHOKED because they lost to the Yankees.

- Oakland won the World Series in 1989
- Boston hasn't won a World Series since 1918

- Oakland has one of the best farm leagues in Baseball
- Boston doesn't and plays the Free Agent Market well

- Oakland plays in a small market, hence they can't afford big money to big players
- Boston plays in a bigger market and spends its money on big players

Red Dawn revealed that tidbit during the Bosox/A's series, said that even though he was an Oakland fan he wouldn't mind if Boston won b/c of the celebrations that would ensue since he lives there.

You kidding, when I learned to wipe the drool from my mouth as a child that automatically disqualified me as a Red Sux Fan!

Well once Boston has Mulder, Zito, and Hudson, then would you cheer for us? Already got Foulke ;)

You're kidding. Tejada is worth every penny. Tejada is nearly as good as Nomar or Jeter and they are getting paid 25%+ more than he is. Orioles got a steal with Tejada IMO

I don't understand why closers, who pitch no more than 2 innings, get paid so much money. Often they get paid more than other quality starters.

Foulke was overpaid and Billy Beane is a smart man for letting him go. He is also smart for not paying Tejada or Giambi. His dollars should be focused on the young pitching core of Zito, Hudson, and Mulder.
