Ok, I am young blood here just getting into the Anandtech form discussions. I was wondering what is going on with S@H. Not the network problem, which I am fully aware of, but the people that are migrating away from S@H. Is TeAm moving from S@H to a new project. I seem to be seeing a slow possiable migration to other projects. Anyone have any thoughts to this?

The TeAm is not migrating from Seti, there has always been people crunching on various projects. There was a huge explosion in membership on the Seti team as a result of the race with DSLR. What you are seeing now is people who have been exposed to distributed computing are seeing that maybe another project holds some interest for them.

I believe it is probably something that happens after any race where there is active recruiting going on.

Well, my guess would be that some folks are moving to other projects because they just joined the SETI effort to help us in our race with DSLR - yes, there really was a race at one point. :D

There are probably some others that are disappointed with how Berkeley handled the entire bandwidth issue too.

Sometimes taking a break is a good idea - I did for three months to do RC5 full time. Poof, on the other hand, runs like 6 different projects at once so there's another way of REALLY being involved! :Q :)

I don't think there's any kind of organized mass exodous going on.. though if there were, I probably missed the memo; irrelevant for me anyway, 'cuz I'm staying right here. :)

What migration?

Also some people switching back to previous projects after helping TA with the SETI race :)
