Hope, this wasn't already mentioned before:
I found a different behaviour regarding linked pictures from external sources:
In the post linked below I am linking pictures that are hosted in one of my GitHub Repos. There I update them periodically and before the migration the pictures in the posts got updated as well without further manual operation.
This no longer seems to be the case - instead they seem to get cached. Even if I edit post, remove link, save, edit post, re-insert link, it does not work. So it seems, the caching uses the URL as key and not even a checksum.
Maybe it is possible to switch back to the old behaviour by some configuration in the back-end or maybe some other advice?

Hmm.. images before were never proxied. With the update that was enabled. However, I have added github images to the proxy exclusion list. See if that fixes your issue.
