Migrating kids app data to new tables

Kids are getting Nvidia Shield Tablets to replace their Nabi's. Pretty sure the Nabi runs kitkat. I believe the way to migrate their apps and app data to the Nvidia Shield is to use Helium. Is that still the best way for non rooted devices. Wish there was just a saved game folder I could copy over. It would be so much easier.
