Migrating from no server to Win2K server

Hi I was wondering if it is possible to migrate from a server-less network to one with a server.

The idea is to install a server on the network, what do I need to do for each of the workstations?

Hi I was wondering if it is possible to migrate from a server-less network to one with a server.

So, what do you want to do with your 'server'? Are you going to try and upgrade on of the current clients to a server? (That won't work BTW)

You should just have to install ther server, set it up with what you want it to do (web, file sharing, FTP, telnet, printer sharing, etc.), and then begin to connect your client machines to it... Depending on the size of your enetwork, there shouldn't be too much planning involved. More details...

It depends on the network model you want to employ. If you are happy with a workgroup, then you can add the server to the exsisting workgroup and run it as a member server.
If you wanted to move to a Domain model then you will need to look into Active Directory, DNS, etc. It's a bit more complicated. In small networks (under 10 computers) it is often not necessary, but it all depends on your needs and security concerns.
