good day dear experts, hello everyone on Anantech,

i have a very old install of Ubuntu that runs FF

142.0.1. FireFox :: Mozilla FireFox Snap for Ubuntu canonical -002-1.0

now i have exported the dataset - i.e. the passwd:

Code:
url

username

password

httpRealm

formActionOrigin

guid

timeCreated

timeLastUsed

timePasswordChanged

question - can i import the whole stuff into another notebook that runs linux - with FF

question: are there any constraints obstacles or things to take care for!?

or does this run smoothly

I don't quite understand what you're doing. Firefox sync is the easiest way to keep browsers synchronized. Otherwise, copying ~/.mozilla/firefox over to the new computer should work. I assume snaps still operate like that, but I don't use snaps, and have no familiarity.

good day dear lxskilr
first of all : many thanks for the reply

thats a great idea - to use the sync function - well the ubuntu (os) i am running here is damned old. And i have not updated the ff - therfore. So i have heard somebody talking that the data- would not fit without any obstacles from the old ff - into any new one.

but - thank you for the hints - and the headsup. I will have a closer look at these.

thank you very much.

I usually just export/import the bookmarks and start off with a new profile. I used to just carry the same profile between machines by backing up the folder but after a while of doing that you can start to run into weird issues, so it's best to just start with a fresh profile once in a while.
