Migrating an NT print server to a 2000 Print server

I just built a new print server on Win2K server to replace our old NT4 print server. I gave the new server the same name, and IP address as the old server, took the old server down, and brought the new server up. It registered with the domain fine. I can see all the new print shares fine, and map to them, and set up network printers etc.. My problem is the whole reason for giving it the same name and IP was so I wouldn't have to remap all the printer shares on our 100+ clients. The old shares say they can't find the specified printer on the server. All the share names are the same as the old shares. Security is set to everyone has access(we don't limit our printer access). Is it just not possible to migrate from NT to 2000 without remapping everything?

It seems like you didnt migrate, but made a new server, we had the same problem here a while back, removed the NT4 print server and replaced it with a new named 2000 server, but with the same printer names.
Some people had to have the printers cleared from the registry before they could use the 'new' print server/printers.
Sounds like the same problem
