Ok,
so I just built a new pc for a friend, He has an old computer on which he uses office applications and some others. He wants to make sure that everything stays the same on the new computer. He has Outlook, word and other things cusomized to the way he likes it.

How do I transfer all his old settings from the old computer to the new one, and preserve his customized settings in outlook and word?

aside from migrating these folders:

C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\cookies
C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\desktop
C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\favorites
C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\my documents

to the new computer, what do else do I have to do to make sure his MS outlook and MS word settings stay the same?

I know i have to migrate some things from the local settings folder.

but what exactly?

I am not sure if you can do that. You can try copying the entire profile in the hope the settings come with it. Otherwise do the best you can by copying the folders you mention above.

I wouldn't waste my time doing that. Just do fresh installs of the software. I would not not move cookies over to the new system.
