Migrate files from Windows to Linux

has anyone tried to migrate apps and data from windows 8.1 native box
to linux box?

I was going to try to load PC mover on the Linux box, and then run it in wine and migrate everything from windows
 
That's not going to work. Windows programs don't work on GNU/Linux, aside from hacking around in Wine, but I'd only consider that as a last resort. Data is data. That can just be copied over.
