migrain aleve or tyenol

2xBayer Back & Body + 1x500mg tylenol, if you can get ahold of the Bayer. It's the only thing that will get rid of mine.

Between those two I'd go with the Aleve though. I've never tried it but tylenol alone never works for me.

Neither one works for me. When I have a REAL bad migraine, 3 Excedrin usually does the trick, but occasionally, I have to add 2 ibuprofen to the mix to get relief.

OTC pain relievers don't get rid of migraines for me, in fact...I usually just vomit them up. If you continue to get migraines, examine your diet and lifestyle. There's MANY triggers for migraines, everyones different.

I can barely stare at a screen when I get a migraine.
First its aura->knifing pain in head + sensitivity to light->nausea->vomit->start to feel better
Usually I only get migraines every couple of months or so. I had one last week, though, and it was bad enough that I had to go back home as soon as I arrived at church. I think the blinding glare from the snow outside is what did it (from now on I'm wearing shades).

To answer your question, Aleve. I hear it's better for migraines (for an OTC), but I've never taken it myself.

Occasionally I get very bad headaches. I do not know if they are considered migraines but I was advised by my dr. to take excedrin migraine. It has worked almost perfect for well over a year.

Midrin + 30 min. nap + a cup of coffee / tea afterward usually does it for me. I get them about once a month and it's terrible. That drug is a miracle though... probably about the strongest non-narcotic pain killer you can get.

Seconded.

My father and I get big headaches and Exedrin is the ONLY thing that kills it every time.

I take 3 also....and continue with 2 more 2 hrs later if it persists. I'll then try a cold pack, neck massage or eating.

For a nearly permanent fix do a small dose of LSD or psilocybin.

Hahaha. Enjoy your short stay on these forums.

And, for the record, that is definitely NOT true.

Excedrine does wonders for me. They are tylenol, aspirin, and caffeine in one pill. I bust those out on the bad ones. The lesser ones I can control with Advil.
