I was playing a game last night and the circulation to my left arm got cut off by the desk. i didnt think anything about it because usually the blood just runs back through and your fine again. Well it didnt work out like that and about 18 hours later i still have a numbing sensation in my left arm more towards the elbow all the down to my hand. It just felt like the blood didnt get moving again like it ususally does. Any suggestions on what might of happened or how to fix this problem?

Chances are that the lack of circulation (or pressure) has stunned the nerves. Most commonly, the problem is pressure on the nerve that runs behind the elbow (this gives sensation to the side of the arm with the little finger on it).

It's likely that the circulation has, in fact, been fully restored - the hand should feel warm (same temp as the other) when tested with another bit of the body, and when you squeeze the hand the blood should come back quickly when you let go.

Things should recover, but it may take a few days.

Next time don't play for such a long time, and get proper ergonomic furniture - e.g. 5 point star based swivel chair with lumbar support and height adjust, foot rest, appropriately sized desk at the correct height (top surface between 27 and 29 inches from the floor), appropriately tilted keyboard, etc.

mark R your despriction sounds pretty accurate and i sure hope your right because i definetly dont wanna do any permanent damage or have to go through any surgery for something as stupid as playing a game. Also gonna get a new desk with rounded corners so this sort of stuff wont happen again.
